Life's Work
Shouldn’t there be more to life than waiting?
Alone, naked, begging to live rather
Than having the freedom to discover
Our worthiness instead of self-hating?
Head down in the dark hoping for the light.
Empty sustenance ready for plating.
We have learned to serve ourselves dire poison.
Stuck with oligarchic minds dictating
Our pathways, we lose the will to gather
Up resources so we can recover
Our happiness instead of placating.
