To revel in social graces and life
Changing into something beyond normal

Stemmed and fluted, the glasses mingle
Trying to halt the tide of plans mislaid
Rising fully to wicked comely smiles.
Effervescence sucked dry, bold, unafraid
Of what is passing in shadow and strife
Now verging towards the paranormal.
Tip back, swallow, and join the masquerade.
